Prayer Requests

How May We Pray For You?

I am reminded of three words….faith, patience and perseverance.  When I pray I must have faith that God will be faithful. I have to believe He wants what is best for me, always praying for His will to be done, not mine.  I must have patience to wait on His timing.  I have a tendency to want things quickly. God’s timing is perfect. I must persevere and not give up hope. I need to be tenacious and keep seeking Him, no matter how things look. Matthew 7:7-8 tells us to ask, and it will be given to us, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open to you. For everyone who asks, receives; he who seeks, finds, and to him who knocks, the door will be open to him. This scripture tells me that it’s not a one time deal. I need to daily, continually seek His will for my life as well as, my family, my church, my community. Let us persevere and not give up hope, for God is on our side. Who can separate us from His love? Nothing! Romans 8:35-39"

"If in prayer I come before a throne of grace, then the faults of my prayer will be overlooked. . .  our Lord Jesus Christ, takes care to alter and amend every prayer before he presents it, and he makes the prayer perfect with his perfection, and prevalent with His own merits. God looks upon the prayer, as presented through Christ, and forgives all its own inherent faultiness. How this ought to encourage any of us who feel ourselves to be feeble, wandering, and unskillful in prayer. . . Then, further, inasmuch as it is a throne of grace, the faults of the petitioner himself shall not prevent the success of his prayer. Oh, what faults there are in us! To come before a throne how unfit we are—we, that are all defiled with sin within and without! Dare any of you think of praying were it not that God’s throne is a throne of grace? If you could, I confess that I could not. An absolute God, infinitely holy and just, could not in consistency with his divine nature answer any prayer from such a sinner as I am, were it not that he has arranged a plan by which my prayer comes up no longer to a throne of absolute justice, but to a throne which is also the mercy-seat, the propitiation, the place where God meets sinners, through Jesus Christ. . . If it be a throne of grace, then the desires of the pleader will be interpreted."

"When I “googled” prayer on my computer I was quite amazed that the total number of hits on the internet were 20,475,436 links to prayer.   You name it and almost anything related to prayer was listed, not all were faith based, but most related to Christ-centered prayer.  I already knew this, but prayer is important to a lot of people.  Prayer is defined as an active effort to communicate with God, either to offer praise, to make a request, seek guidance, confess sins, or simply to express one’s thoughts and emotions.  For the Christian, simply put, prayer is our way to communicate with our Heavenly Father who desires to communicate with us.  What a wonderful relief to know that God wants to hear from us, He desires to hear us tell Him of our victories, defeats, wants, thankfulness, and hurts!   When I prayed to receive Christ the lines of communication (prayer) began with Christ, the Holy Spirit came into my heart and I gained direct access to Jesus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!   Talk to Him, seek His face, and read His word daily…you won’t be disappointed….I promise!"
